Free lunch and discussion



All coursework and research postgraduates are invited to find out about the services that MPA provides including advice and advocacy, postgraduate seminars and social events. It is also an opportunity to inform the MPA about the needs of Law Chambers-based postgraduates. Meet other postgraduates and develop a postgraduate network. Free lunch will be provided.

Meet the Legal Profession - Postgraduate Networking Evening (MILA)



The Monash International Law Association is hosting a careers focused networking evening for Monash Law postgraduate students. Come and meet members of the legal profession currently working in: government; private practice; sole practices; legal recruitment and more.

Date:Thursday, 23 July 2009 6.30 pm - 9.30 pm
Venue: Koko Black 52 Collins Street Melbourne CBD
Dress Code: Business

Library seminars (Law Chambers)

Research consultations and specialist training sessions in using law databases and EndNote are available upon request. Email your request for an appointment or ask at the information desk.

Seminars on academic learning skills to help you get the best results, including for assignments, are available at the Law Chambers on Thursdays. For details, visit The law Library website.

Facilities

The Monash University Law Chambers building has nine seminar rooms, two conference rooms, three break-out rooms, a lounge area for reading and one-on-one discussions and a state-of-the-art computer area seating up to 18 students..

International Law Association (ILA)

Postgraduates are given free membership to the ILA as part of an arrangement with the Law Faculty. The association provides academic support, presents special lectures and seminars, coordinates several social events, and liaises with sponsors in providing special member concessions within and without the university. The association also connects members to relevant articling, clerkship, work experience, internship, and legal support employment opportunities offered by local and international law firms and organisations.

Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA)

The Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA) represents and serves the interests and welfare of postgraduates enrolled on all Victorian campuses by providing activities and services to cater to their specific needs.

The MPA provides a range of services including advice and advocacy, seminars and workshops, social events and representation.  Enrolled postgraduates are automatically entitled to use the resources and services of the MPA.
