HDR Representative required for the Graduate Research Council (GRC) Steering Committee


Are you a PhD candidate or Masters by Research student with ideas, initiative and drive? Have you considered being a representative voice for graduate research students in your faculty? If this describes you, please read on and nominate!

The GRC Steering Committee is set up to support clear decision-making across all areas of graduate research, including policies, procedures and academic curriculum (courses, programs, units of study, and professional development).

The committee sits regularly throughout the year and it is expected that the student representative would be able to attend a majority of these meetings. The meeting schedule is as below:

Graduate Student Representative required for the Monash Intercultural Lab Advisory Committee


Are you someone with ideas, initiative and drive? Are you prepared to be a representative voice for graduate students? If this describes you, please read on and nominate!


The Monash Intercultural Lab Advisory Committee is responsible for providing advice and input on the development and implementation of University’s Intercultural Competence (ICC) strategy, and, more specifically, for guiding the development of a 3-year ICC Strategic Plan for MIL (2020-2022).

In support of a coherent institutional approach for intercultural competence skills development for Monash students and staff, the Committee will raise matters up through University governance for consideration as a formal position endorsed by the group.

The MIL Advisory Committee reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice President (Education), and to the Dean from the Faculty of Arts.


A few things you should know:

  • The term of office runs from appointment until 31 December, 2021. It is important that students are available for the entirety of this appointment.
  • There are usually two scheduled meetings a year.
  • After nominations close, shortlisted candidates will be invited by the MGA to further discuss the position and their suitability for the role.

HDR Representative required for the Arts Faculty Graduate Research Committee


Are you someone with ideas, initiative and drive? Have you considered being a representative voice for graduate students in your faculty? If this describes you, please read on and nominate!


The Faculty Graduate Research Committee is the governing committee for graduate research in the Faculty. The FGRC oversee policy and operational matters relating to graduate research in the Faculty and University, and will make recommendations to the Monash Graduate Research Committee and/or Faculty Executive as appropriate.

The committee sits six times per year for a one hour meeting and it is expected that the student representative would be able to attend a majority of these meetings. The Arts Graduate Research Committee has oversight of all graduate-research related strategic and operational concerns for the Faculty of Arts.

  • To be eligible for this role, you must have successfully completed your confirmation of candidature.

The Faculty Graduate Research Committee is the governing committee for graduate research in the Faculty. The FGRC oversees policy and operational matters relating to graduate research in the Faculty and University, and will make recommendations to the Monash Graduate Research Committee and/or Faculty Executive as appropriate.
